Weezer & Blink-182 @Shoreline Sept 13

Blink 182 and Weezer are back in the bay area on Sunday, September 13th at the Shoreline. The presale runs Friday, June 12th from 10am to 10pm, password: reunion. Weezer's most recent album RED is good, but I feel that it is too poppy and very manufactured.

一无所有-崔健(Cui Jian)

On the eve of the 20th anniversary of the June 4th Tian An Men massacre, I want to post my favorite song 一无所有 by my favorite Chinese Rocker 崔健(Cui Jian). I got to see him perform at Fort Mason some 15 years ago. His songs always bring me back to high school in China.

Iggy Pop Préliminaires

I heard him on Fresh Air this afternoon. His new Album was released last week. It was inspired by a novel by french author Michel Houellebecq called "La Possibilité d'une île" (2005; Trans. as The Possibility of an Island by Gavin Bowd, 2006). Some of the tracks are pretty good. I'll add a link to the fresh air podcast tomorrow. I think the album is worth checking out. I especially like the track LES FEUILLES MORTES.
